Will Smith Releases New Single, “How To Slap A Bitch” [Listen]
After Will Smith’s dramatic slapping scene at the Oscars involving Chris Rock, the acclaimed actor and rapper has made light of the situation and released the new single, “How To Slap A Bitch.”
Smith isn’t new to the music side of things, famously known for his 1998 Grammy Award- winning single, “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It.” Since then, his debut solo album Big Willie Style has earned a rank as one of the best-selling rap albums of all time, while his three additional full-length albums and additional single collaborations have continued his career in music alongside his acting and performance roles.
Now, Smith’s new single marks his first new single release since 2020’s “Will” remix with Joyner Lucas. “How To Slap A Bitch” ticks in at the 4:20 mark, highlighting Smith’s melodic smooth verses over a crunchy hip-hop rhythmic backing. Always keeping it real, Smith retells the story of what happened that night at the Oscars as he raps through his sudden emotions that led him to slap Rock across the face in front of the celebrity audience and millions watching from home. “Keep my wives name out your f*ckin’ mouth” rings through the catching hooks, making it a great new track to rage to when you’re pissed.
“While Rock and I have come to terms with what has happened and made amends, I decided to capitalize on my regretful and embarrassing actions and make a song about it,” Smith remarks. “Remembering all the emotions that came to me in that moment resurfaced and fueled me to make this new track. I hope this is a reminder to all those people that sometimes, you just have to slap a bitch to let them know how it is.”
Unfortunately, you can’t listen or stream this new track anywhere because it doesn’t exist. Happy April Fool’s Day, bitches.
