Inaugural Tony Hawk’s Weekend Jam To Host Modest Mouse, Descendents, Pro-Skateboarders, & More
Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has announced a new music meets skateboarding festival taking place this May in Las Vegas. The inaugural Tony Hawk’s Weekend Jam is slated to take place at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on May 12th-15th and will combine live music, skateboarding, video games, and more.
Partnering with Pollen Presents, the event will boast weekend performances by bands that helped define skate culture, including headliners Modest Mouse, Descendents, and X. Also scheduled to perform include Cold Cave, The Vandals, Downhill Jam, DEVO, Rough Francis, and Hawk’s son Riley’s horror punk band, Warish.
Additionally, the festival will host both men and women’s skateboarding competitions open to all skill levels throughout the weekend. X Games veterans and professional skateboarders Rune Glifberg, Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, Bucky Lasek, Sandro Dias, Kevin Staab, Lizzie Armanto, Andy Macdonald, and more will all make apperances over the weekend and host a skate demo and assist Hawk in the awards ceremony for the competition winners. Even more, attendees will be able to check out the street park set up, play classic video games in gaming lounge courtesy of Gaming Community Network, visit the skate shop with exclusive merch, and more.
