The Weeknd To Release Highly Anticipated ‘Dawn FM’ This Week

The Weeknd will release his highly anticipated Dawn FM this Friday, January 7th.

The hip-hop, R&B star’s album release will mark 2022’s first major album release of the year, highlighting a skillful collection of collaborators, including Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Quincy Jones. Actor and comedian Jim Carrey will also appear on the album.

“Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people,” The Weeknd wrote in a note teasing the album’s imminent release last week.

Dawn FM follows The Weeknd’s massive 2020 double platinum album, After hours. Dawn FM was previously previewed last August with the single “Take My Breath,” and the hip-hop star has since appeared on tracks with Swedish House Mafia, Post Malone, Rosalía, FKA Twigs, and a posthumous Aaliyah release.

Along with his forthcoming album, The Weeknd has been producing and co-writing a new HBO drama series, The Idol with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. A release date for the new television series has yet to be announced.

You can listen to The Weeknd’s Dawn FM this Friday on all streaming platforms. After several delays, The Weeknd is finally projected to hit the road for this After Hours tour this summer. He was originally set to headline Salt Lake City, UT’s Vivint Arena on March 1st, but has yet to reschedule SLC’s performance. Visit his website for additional information.
