Superstar Rapper Headlines SLC Benefit Concert For Juneteenth
Platinum recording artist Polo G is set to headline a special benefit concert and community gathering event in celebration of Juneteenth at The Gateway Mall in Downtown Salt Lake City.
Polo G will take the stage on Friday, June 16, as the closing act of an event that features local musicians, food trucks, and vendors representing local Black-owned small businesses. The concert and gathering will be held at the North end of the Gateway Mall, near the Olympic Fountains, and run from 6PM to 9PM.
Organized in collaboration with several community organizers and with backing from multiple local businesses, including The Gateway, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Beloved Community, a nonprofit that works towards greater racial and economic equity and development. Polo G’s performance on Friday night will kick off a Juneteenth Celebration that includes a Festival and Black-owned Business Expo on Monday, June 19, 2023.
Known for hit singles, “Rapstar,” “Finer Things,” and “Pop Out,” Polo G is a Chicago-born rapper who already released two albums ranked in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 list. His debut album, Die a Legend, peaked at No. 6 on the charts and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second studio album, Hall of Fame, reached the second spot on the Billboard 200 and included 10 Hot 100 singles.
