Sartain & Saunders Announces Mask Mandate For All Indoor Events Regardless Of Vaccination Status

Sartain & Saunders has announced the mandatory use of masks for all patrons at all of their indoor events.

The SLC-based promoter posted on social media last Friday that effective immediately, all patrons will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status at all indoor events at their operating venues, including Kilby Court, Urban Lounge, and Metro Music Hall. The announcement follows the CDC’s recently adjusted guidelines, stating that all individuals should wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.

The long-awaited return of live music looked promising as the COVID-19 vaccine started rolling out to communities around the country and world. While over 50% of the U.S. population have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the unknown spread of the new Delta variant has posed a new set of concerns for promoters and venues around the country. California and New York City have already passed laws surrounding proof of vaccination to enter indoor spaces, while large-scale events like Lollapalooza received immense backlash, even though they required a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to attend.

While venues, promoters, and musicians are just starting to get back to touring after a year without income, it’s unclear at this time whether there will be another national trend toward stricter COVID-19 precautions for indoor events. For more information, visit the CDC’s website.
