Ogden Twilight Concert Series Announces 2021 Lineup: The Flaming Lips, Big Wild, More
Ogden City and Alleged have announced the 2021 Twilight Concert Series.
Mirroring SLC’s Twilight Concert Series, the annual summer music series will kick off in August and September at the Ogden Amphitheater with a slate of genre-spanning shows. Fitz And The Tantrums will headline the first show on August 13th, followed by The Flaming Lips on August 20th, Big Wild on August 21st, Louis The Child on August 28th, Spoon on September 3rd, Noah Cyrus on September 4th, Death Cab For Cutie on September 10th, Purity Ring on September 16th, Portugal. The Man on September 21st, and Grouplove on September 25th.
Tickets to the shows will be $10, or a season pass can be purchased for $100. For the first time, the Ogden Twilight Concert Series will offer a full bar service. Attendees 21+ will be able to purchase beer, wine, or liquor to enjoy anywhere throughout the venue, both with cash or credit.
Bringing the arts and music communities together, this year’s series will also feature a special art component at the Ogden Contemporary Arts. Starting August 6th through September 21st, The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne will be showcasing his “The Kings Mouth” art installation, which inspired the lyrics of The Flaming Lips’ 2019 album of the same name. Attendees can experience his “immersive head trip fantasy experience,” including 14 original art pieces that tell the fantastical narrative of the King’s Mouth through multi-media components.
“The King’s Mouth” at OCA Center will be its 11th iteration, having traveled to cities across the country including Oklahoma City, Santa Fe, Portland, and Nashville. Coyne will host the opening event The King’s Stroll on August 6th during Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll, and The King’s Party, which precedes The Flaming Lips’ Ogden Twilight performance on August 20th.
