Lizzo To Get Her Own HBO Max Documentary
Lizzo is set to be the subject of a new HBO Max documentary, scheduled to premiere this fall.
The Doug Pray-directed documentary is still untitled and is awaiting a specific release date. While the documentary will be surrounding her, Lizzo will be the executive producer through her production company Lizzobangers to ensure accuracy. The documentary will follow the Grammy Award-winning artist’s life from her humble beginnings to her history-making career in music and culture.
“Growing up I never dreamed I’d get to experience all of the things I’ve accomplished in my life, and I’m just getting started,” Lizzo said in a statement. “I’m so excited I get to share and relive my journey with my fans and HBO Max. From ‘Cuz I Love You’ to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album ‘Special,’ y’all get to see the amount of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went into this process. It takes ten years to become an ‘overnight success,’ and hopefully I can inspire other young creatives to keep going.”
The untitled documentary is just one of the many things the international singer, rapper, and flutist has on the horizon. Lizzo will release her highly-anticipated second full-length album, Special on July 15th and will set off on a North American tour starting September 23rd, including a stop at Salt Lake City, UT’s Vivint Arena on November 2nd.
Tickets to Lizzo’s The Special Tour are now on sale here. For a full list of upcoming tour dates and additional information on her forthcoming documentary, visit her website.
