Kendrick Lamar Reveals New Album Name, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,’ Release Date, & Teases “The Heart Part 5”

After making a comeback announcement this week on his forthcoming new studio album, Kendrick Lamar updated his website revealing the release date of the album, titled Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, set for release on May 13th.

With the release date just four weeks away, Lamar’s fifth studio album will end his five-year hiatus since his last full-length Pulitzer-winning album, DAMN. The rapper tweeted a link to his Oklama website, revealing the album title and release date, where fans were then led to an official press release from his pgLang company with all the details.

Additionally, the oklama website currently contains 399 folders in total with #327 blacked-out and titled, ‘important.’ The URL contained “theheart,” speculating another tease of what would be the rapper’s fifth installment of his “The Heart” series. This could be a good guess for fans, as Lamar released his fourth installment of “The Heart” in 2017 just weeks ahead of DAMN.

It’s been a long time coming for the official announcement to be made. Lamar teased the new record, his “final TDE album,” on a website last summer alongside an Instagram post, circulating the start of anticipation of new music.

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators,” Lamar wrote. “As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”

Now, fans don’t need to speculate and have an album name and date on the calendar to count down to in anticipation of the new project. Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers releases May 13th. For more information and additional updates, visit Lamar’s updated Oklama website.
