Joe Bonamassa Releases New Single “Notches” Ahead Of Forthcoming Album

Joe Bonamassa has released the new single “Notches” from his forthcoming new studio album, due out later this year.

Recorded in New York City at Germano Studios/The Hit Factory and co-written with Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr, “Notches” features a more raw rock n’ roll sound, highlighting a mix of country and rounding harder-edged blues guitar riffs. The accompanying music video illustrates alongside Bonamassa’s reflective yet real lyrics, showcasing memories and the obstacles he’s faced throughout his career.

The new single and music video follows Bonamassa’s partnership announcement with Heritage Auction House, putting up that he’ll be auctioning off an exclusive ‘Broken Record’ package, including his 1959 Gibson Les Paul and 1963 Fender Vibroverb, equipped with an accompanying NFT.

After having his 2020 concert tour fall through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the blues-rock guitar icon wasted no time during the extra time spent off the road, having released two albums Royal Tea and its secondary live component Now Serving: Royal Tea Live From The Ryman. Now, Bonamassa is coming full force into 2021 with an extensive rescheduled Summer, Fall, and Winter tours. Accompanying him on the road is his classic band, featuring drummer Greg Morrow, bassist Michael Rhodes, former Stevie Ray Vaughan keyboardist Reese Wynans, and backing singer Jade MacRae. Bonamassa will kick off his tour on July 30th at San Jose, CA’s San Jose Civic, headline a double-header performance at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 8th and 9th, and finish off his summer tour at Salt Lake City, UT’s Eccles Theater on August 12th before hitting the road again in October to kick off his three-month Fall and Winter tour.
