Hippie Sabotage Surprise Drop Sophomore Album, ‘Floating Palace’ [Stream/Listen]

After announcing their Rooms Of Hallucination Tour last week, Hippie Sabotage has surprise-released their sophomore album, Floating Palace.

Influenced by a variety of genres, the chill-wave electronic duo has infused Floating Palace with moments of self-reflection and existential wonderings. The 14-track collection highlights 808-laden trap beats amplified by honest lyrics and hazy textures, borrowing from hip-hop and rock.

Floating Palace is a metaphor for your mind. What you do when under pressure and how you respond. We wanted to make [the album] sound like an old ‘70s prog album with a variety of songs that intertwine with each other and evolve in intensity over time starting and ending on the boardwalk in Venice,” brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer explained. “We layered recordings we’ve collected from all over the world and infused them as foley sounds throughout the project trying to make it sound even more like you’re on a journey. Towards where is up for you to decide.”

Floating Palace is now available to stream only via SoundCloud below.

Hippie Sabotage will hit the road in January for a five month national tour spanning 46 dates, including a headlining show at Salt Lake City, UT’s Union Event Center on January 29th. For tickets, head here. Visit their website for a full list of upcoming tour dates and additional information.
