Watch The Trailer For The New Music Documentary ‘Freakscene – The Story Of Dinosaur Jr.’ [Watch]
A new documentary film Freakscene – The Story Of Dinosaur Jr. is set for release this Fall, showcasing the journey of alternative rock icons Dinosaur Jr. and the rise and fall of their musical career.
The film, directed by Philipp Reichenheim, lays out the saga for the trio, mixing archival footage of concerts, music videos, and interviews with members J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph, as well as Kim Gordon, Henry Rollins, Bob Mould, Thurston Moore, and more. The film made its debut this summer at the band’s third annual Camp Fuzz and is currently set to hit UK theaters October 1st, with no current release date yet for the US. Ahead of the film’s full release, Dinosaur Jr. has released the official trailer.
Watching the trailer, the film is set to show the good, the bad, and the ugly of the band’s decades-long career. The film digs deep into the trio’s musical history, highlighting the group’s internal struggles navigating success throughout the 90s and undergoing lineup changes, breakups, reunions, and more, describing itself as “an emotional, tragically funny and sometimes noisy rollercoaster ride by a dysfunctional family, Dinosaur Jr.”
