Courtney Barnett Shares Fourth Single, “If I Don’t Hear From You” Ahead Of Forthcoming Album
Courtney Barnett has shared the fourth single “If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight” from her forthcoming album, Things Take Time, Take Time, due out this Friday, November 12th.
Following the forthcoming third LP’s “Rae Street,” “Before You Gotta Go,” and “Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To,” the singer-songwriter’s latest track dives into the butterfly feelings you get when you like someone in your life, pondering on the possibilities of a new relationship.
“I think my stance in the past was like, ‘There’s so many love songs and they don’t mean anything,’ but there’s something really special about zooming in on a moment and capturing it,” Barnett said in a statement. “‘If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight’ comes from the state of where my head was at — trying to communicate honestly instead of keeping [my feelings] guarded.”
Accompanying Barnett on the track is also Australian drummer Stella Mozgawa and Welsh musician and producer Cate Le Bon who are both featured alongside Barnett in the track’s music video filmed in Joshua Tree, CA.
