Coachella Swaps In Billie Eilish, Kanye West As 2022 Festival Headliners

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has modified its headliners for its 2022 event, swapping in Billie Eilish, Kanye West, and Swedish House Mafia.

The festival’s originally announced headliners included Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against The Machine, but after changing the date of their event four separate times since 2020, more modification has unraveled. Ocean moved his appearance to 2023, while Scott was removed from performing at the upcoming event in the wake of his recent Astroworld tragedy. It’s unclear why Rage Against The Machine is off the bill.

The festival, which is already sold-out, is scheduled to take place April 15th-17th and again April 22nd-24th at its usual Empire Polo Ground in Indio, California. As North America’s largest music festival with an average hosting of 100,000 people per day, many are wondering if Coachella’s 2022 installment will take place as the surge of COVID-19 continues among communities in the United States. The Recording Academy has already indefinitely postponed this year’s Grammy Awards, while touring artists and bands are starting to pull the plug on larger-scale events.

Additionally, Coachella’s headliner swap comes following its reversed COVID-19 vaccination proof, furthering the event’s continual discrepancies to ticket buyers.
