Cigarettes After Sex: From Opening Act to World Tour

Creating perfect cohesion between musical landscape and lyrics, Cigarettes After Sex have announced their upcoming world tour, along with their forthcoming new LP, titled X’s, due July 12th.

Cigarettes After Sex have had immense growth over the last few years, especially in the Salt Lake City market. Just a few years ago in 2016, bandleader Greg Gonzalez alongside his bandmates took the stage at The Complex, opening the night up for Garbage. Whisking the audience back to the early ’90s, the group took downtempo to a level that had the crowd captivated from the first guitar strum to the closing note.

Making the return to SLC in 2023, the group headlined Ogden Twilight Concert Series, and annual concert series in Ogden, UT featuring some of the best in indie and alternative each season. The show brought out lovers from all across the state, selling out the Ogden City Amphitheater. Their dreamy and ethereal sound had couples enthralled all night long, even bringing one fan to his knees for a proposal just after a rainbow appeared in the Utah sky. Nothing short of an incredible evening, the band delivered on their highly coveted ability to recreate emotions found only in the most romantic of movies; immersive, achingly nostalgic, thoroughly transporting, and intensely visual.

Now, the bands devoted fan base can look forward to their biggest show to date in Downtown SLC at the Delta Center! Produced by Live Nation, the tour features shows at some of the globe’s most iconic venues, like Madison Square Garden and London’s O2, with more Asia, South America and Middle East shows to be announced at a later date. Filled with raw, imagistic, sometimes smutty vignettes set to entrancing, slowburn pop songs, the band is currently sitting in the top 300 artists in the world, proving that a world tour is well deserved.

With tour dates running all the way through 2025, Cigarettes After Sex will be taking the stage at the Delta Center on October 3rd, 2024.
