Built To Spill Announce Forthcoming New Album & Share Lead Single “Gonna Lose” [Watch/Listen]

Built to Spill have announced a new forthcoming album, When The Wind Forgets Your Name, and have released the lead single, “Gonna Lose.”

Scheduled to be out September 9th via their new label Sub Pop, When The Wind Forgets Your Name will mark the Boise-based indie rock group’s first full-length original release in seven years, following 2015’s Untethered Moon.

“Making When the Wind Forgets Your Name was such a great experience,” Built to Spill’s Doug Martsch said in a statement. “I had an incredible time traveling and recording with Lê Almeida and João Casaes. I also learned so much about Brazilian culture and music while creating it. My Portuguese was terrible when I first met Almeida and Casaes, but by the end of the year it was even worse.”

The album’s lead single “Gonna Lose” comes today accompanied by a new Jordan Minkoff directed animated music video. The Flaming Lips crossed Led Zeppelin sounding track meets quite the psychedelic trip scene as animations flow in and out through an animated fantasy world. Go ahead and “lose your mind” and watch the official video below.
