Big Thief Announces 2022 Tour, Releases New Single “Change” [Listen/Stream]

Big Thief have announced a 2022 world tour, outlining a sequence of headlining show dates across Europe, the United States, and Canada. Accompanying the tour announce, the indie-folk quartet have released a new single, “Change.”

Engineered and mixed by Dom Monks (Mick Fleetwood, White Denim, Paul McCartney), “Change” marks the group’s fourth single release of the year following “Little Things,” “Sparrow,” and “Certainty.” The slower paced track highlights lead singer Adrianne Lenker’s soulful vocals through reflective lyrics surrounding life’s never-ending changes as bandmates Buck Meek, Max Oleartchik, and James Krivchenia provide light instrumental backing. The result is a near five-minute warm and lovable track that makes you just want to curl up and relish in life’s simple pleasures.

Outlined in their 2022 tour dates, Big Thief will kick off the new year with a set of European performances in January, February, and March. The group will then head back to the United States to kick off their North American tour on April 12th at Ithaca, NY’s State Theatre before headlining Salt Lake City, UT’s Metro Music Hall on April 30th.

Keeping up with the momentum of new music, the group recently stated in an interview that a new double album is currently in the works and is set to be released next year. No additional details are known at the time of publishing.
