2022 Grammy Awards Performances: Silk Sonic, Billy Strings, Billie Eilish, More

The Recording Academy has finalized its performance lineup for Sunday’s 64th annual Grammy Awards, including third round “headliners” Silk Sonic, Billy Strings, John Legend, and more.

The third round of lineup additions also include Carrie Underwood, J Balvin with Maria Becerra, Maverick City Music, and Aymée Nuviola. The new acts join the previously announced list of 2022 Grammy Awards performances: Jon Batiste, Brothers Osborne, BTS, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Nas, Olivia Rodrigo, and Chris Stapleton.

Foo Fighters were slated to perform at this year’s event, but have since canceled all tour dates due to the recent and sudden death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last week. The band’s 2021 single “Waiting On A War” is up for “Best Rock Song.” The ceremony will also feature a tribute to Hawkins, as well as an In Memoriam performance dedicated to Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim performed by Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., Ben Platt, and Rachel Zegler.

“We will honor [Hawkins] memory in some way. We want to figure out what is the right thing to do that is respectful to everyone involved,” said Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive vice president of specials, music, and live events. “We’re patient. We’ll be planning right up until the very end.”

Scheduled to premiere on CBS and Paramount+ this Sunday, April 3rd from 6-9 p.m. MT, the 2022 Grammy Awards ceremony will honor 86 different categories of music, including the “Big Four” of Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best New Artist.
