Salt Lake City’s 2021 Venue Tour Series: The State Room

What would Salt Lake City’s music scene be without The State Room? Voted Salt Lake City’s best live music venue, the 299-capacity venue caters to live music lovers, giving them an intimate experience to see some of the best national touring acts.

What used to be the city’s Utah Children’s Theatre quickly turned into one of the city’s best locally-owned music venues. Located in downtown Salt Lake City, the venue sits right across the street from The Bayou, a buzzling eatery and bar, a perfect pairing for a night out. Catering to its mix of audience attendees, the venue features a variety of fixed seats, tables and chairs, and open floor space, often on a first-come, first-serve basis. Equipped with a full bar, the venue is 21+, allowing an adults-only setting to see a live performance.

Its state-of-the-art sound system allows both national touring acts and local staples to grace its stage, and has hosted Amanda Shires, North Mississippi Allstars, Yola, Eric Johnson, Yo La Tengo, Khruangbin, Keller Williams, Los Lonely Boys, Lucius and more. Whether you’re in the city visiting or a resident, you won’t find shortage of live music events at this downtown venue.

The State Room will kick off their 2021 concert season in September with Monophonics and Con Brio, followed by Jamestown Revival, AJJ, Madison Cunningham, Julian Lage, Charlie Parr, Josh Kelley, Todd Snider, and more. For a full list of upcoming events, visit its website.
